American Craft

So honored to be the cover story for American Craft, one of my favorite magazines. Read the feature here, and see the cover here.

This Old House

For a recent edition of This Old House magazine, Norm and Mike Rowe came and hung out at Keating Woodworks for the day to talk about making sure we educate and train the next generation of craftsmen and women. See the cover photo and read about it here.

Riverside Art Museum

In 1975, the Boston Museum of Fine Art commissioned an installation entitled “Please Be Seated,” which included chairs from several makers including Sam Maloof. As part of the celebration for his 100 birthday, the Riverside Art Museum, in conjunction with the Maloof Foundation, put together a group show entitled (intentionally playing on the title of the 1975 Boston show) “Sit With Me”, by way of exploring Maloof‘s influence on contemporary chair makers who are carrying his torch so to speak. I couldn’t be more honored to have been invited to make several pieces for the installation. The thought of having my pieces sitting next to those of my hero was daunting to say the least. Seeing Maloof’s pieces in person was truly awe inspiring.

Mountain and Prairie Podcast

Ed Roberson, the man behind the popular podcast Mountain and Prairie was kind enough to interview me for his latest pod. He does really cool stuff on conservation, the American West, you name it. It turned into a nice conversation about the nature of my craft and what it’s like starting your own business. Check it out here.

Architectural Digest

Architectural Digest has a short feature highlighting some of their favorite American makers. Very honored that Keating Woodworks is included among them, holding down the middle of the country. Check it out here.

5280

5280 wrote a very gracious profile in their latest issue. Among other things, they ask
my advice on renovating your own home, I guess because I’ve been able to drag the Keating Woodworks HQ project out over 3 years (and counting). Must be a record. Pick up a copy at news stands, or check it out here!

Design Sponge

For all the design geeks, my favorite writer on the topic, Grace Bonney, did a cool write up on Keating Woodworks. Check it out over at Design Sponge.

We Heart UK

Keating Woodworks recently got a little love from the good people across the pond, We Heart UK, one of my favorite English design magazines! You can read about it here.

ABC Home

Keating Woodworks is currently featured over at ABC Home as a maker to know. Next time you find yourself at 19th and Broadway in Manhattan drop in and check out the Wharton writing desk.

Yale Magazine / Reflections

Hey friends, Yale asked me to write something about my time at the Divinity School and the intersection of my old craft and my new. Read a bit if you’re so inclined…

The Corcoran Group / Inhabit

The Corcoran Group recently started an online magazine, “Inhabit”. Honored to be one of their first features. Pop over to @thecorcorangroup to check out the piece on me and window shop for your next Park Central penthouse.
